About the studio
Skypanther Studios makes images, films and stories that could not have been made before now.
We use generative tools the way earlier artists used the darkroom or the camera obscura: as instruments, not authors. Each work starts with a world and a rule, such as a harbour town the sea abandoned. Then it is shaped by hand, frame by frame and line by line. Most of what the machines produce is thrown away. What remains is chosen.
Nothing we make is a photograph, and we never pretend otherwise. Every work is fiction and is labelled as made with AI. We are not after realism. We are after recognition: the feeling of a memory you never had.
